Atelier Eva, a renowned tattoo studio in Brooklyn, has opened a second location on Grand Street. The new parlour, designed by Alp Bozkurt, is housed in a former hardware store and spans 3,000 square feet. The studio aims to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for all clients, particularly women who may have felt uncomfortable or unsafe in other tattooing spaces. The renovated space features restored original features such as skylights, brick walls, and large roof trusses. Translucent polycarbonate panels wrap around the interior, highlighting the sequence of spaces and framing original historical elements. Each artist is allocated a station within an arched niche, complete with foldable padded tables, stools, and storage cabinets. The open space is sparsely populated, allowing for creative gatherings and events. The studio also includes a consultation area, a seating area, and a central pink-concrete planter. The new location provides a unique and visually appealing experience for tattoo enthusiasts.
