Promotion: The highly-anticipated C-Next Designers Europe convention, organized by Spanish surfaces company Cosentino, has welcomed hundreds of international designers to Almeria, Spain. The four-day event, taking place from 1 to 4 October 2023, showcases the work of nearly 300 leading interior design and architecture professionals from 17 European countries.

As one of the largest interior design conventions in Europe, C-Next Designers Europe features a series of keynotes, panels, and immersive activities led by renowned designers such as Tom Dixon and Andrés Reisinger. This year’s edition marks Cosentino’s inaugural involvement in the European interior design sector, after successfully launching the convention in North America two years ago.

Under the theme of “designing a meaningful future,” the convention aims to highlight the innovative ideas and technologies shaping the future of design. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of Cosentino’s industrial park and explore an exhibition at the Cabogata Beach Hotel, showcasing products from each participating designer.

A highlight of the event is British designer Tom Dixon’s presentation, where he introduces Metamorphic, a captivating sculptural installation created in collaboration with Cosentino. The installation challenges traditional bathroom design, and Dixon will delve into the inspiration behind it and the concept of embracing a fresh approach to interior design.

Another talk of note is by British interior designer Claudia Afshar and Cosentino’s product and innovation director Valentin Tijeras. They will explore Ukiyo, a groundbreaking approach to wall cladding using Dekton material and its application in luxury bathroom design.

Digital artist Andres Reisinger will also contribute to the program with a discussion on the role of artificial intelligence in design. Reisinger, known for his mesmerizing digital artwork often involving NFTs, will present a collection of “impossible” virtual furniture designed specifically for 3D virtual spaces.

Aside from the enlightening talks, the convention offers immersive activities that grant guests access to the Cosentino labs and factory facilities. Ryan Bloom, CEO of Urban Bonfire, will discuss the emerging trend of outdoor rooms, while Philippe Brocart, Head of Europe at Material Bank, will delve into the fastest and most sustainable methods for material selection.

C-Next Designers Europe has attracted various design studios and industry professionals, including Gaggenau, FormaFantasma, Vibia, Zaha Hadid Architects’ Head of Interior Architecture Kar-Hwa Ho, and Dezeen’s Editorial Director Max Fraser.
